I have recently noticed that my browser has developed a
few problems, the first being that I noticed that in
Tools>Internet Options the General Tab(which contains the
option to clear Temp Internet folder, History, cookies,
etc) is missing.

I think this is effecting my browser as now I can not
enter things like MSN chatrooms, and some picture will not
display.

I have tried resetting the Internet Options and the
settings. I have also gone through the Control Panel,
through Add/Remove Software and opted to repair IE6. I
have even unistalled IE6 and then reinstalled IE6 but
still it has had no effect. I have even used Ad Aware 6 to
scan for unwanted Registry Keys, but again still no joy.

This has only begun after I tried finding emulator ROMS
and got stuck on website which kept bringing up advert pop
ups of various things and sometimes included diallers.

I have heard of similar problems on Annoyances.org where
people have noticed that the Security Tab is missing.

If anyone knows how to resolve this I would be most
appreciative.

Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.
Download the script from:

Also, refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:

Restore All tabs in IE and Removes the ** Internet Options ** Restrictions
as well

** The cause may be due to a spyware. Download Ad-Aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system and eliminate the malware products.
Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
