I've got a Win2K computer that has been getting gdiplus.dll file missing
errors, usually every time a shortcut is clicked on or a new folder in
Windows Explorer is selected, etc. etc. In other words it's popping up a
lot.
I did some digging and found this file is part of the Microsoft.net
framework, and sure enough, this computer had .net version 1.1
installed. (I have several Win2K computers at this location, this was
the only one with .net and the only one with these errors.) I
uninstalled Microsoft.net and the computer seemed to be ok for a couple
days after a reboot. Now the errors are back. I searched the registry
and found the uninstall didn't remove all references to Microsoft.net
but to be fair some or all of these remaining may be from other programs
which used .net in their construction.
Can anyone give me some help in getting rid of these errors?
