missing folders

We had a folder in my documents which had loads of pics. I went to view them
but they have all dissapeared!! have tried to search the computer but there
is nothing there. Can anyone help??? someone told me there is a way of
retrieving them even if they have been deleted but he did not know how. It
just seemed strange how they had gone and nobody was on the pc. I would be
grateful if anyone could help

Is the folder empty? Or have the file names been
changed to something that includes .vbs?

How did you search? Did you go to...Start button /
Search...and enter the correct formats for the image
files?

Example: .jpg

This search will find all the .jpg files on your computer
including the recycle bin.

Other choices may be: .png, .tif, .gif, .bmp

If that fails...maybe the free software at the following
site will be useful:

Also, you could search the net for...file recovery
software...there are lots of programs for this purpose.
