Missing Files

This morning I have discovered that all of the songs by one particular arist
has disappeared from my computer.

I down loaded these songs approximately nine months ago form a file sharing
site. I have down loaded other files from this site and they are to be ok.

Any suggestions what may have caused this.

You moved instead of copied them elsewhere?
 
As Chris stated, they are elsewhere. Unless you deleted them (somehow?),
you can try a Search for them. Type a single word from one of the song
titles in Search and see if it locates it. You can then hover your cursor
over it and see its location (path). Good luck. :~)
