Missing Files? Need urgent help please

I have 2 drives. I was running out of room on my C drive so I deleted some
programs which I thought had nothing to do with Windows XP. I rebooted my
computer. The icons in the lower right corner of the taskbar (system tray)
are missing. My "help and support" won't run. Internet Explorer version 6
won't run. I don't know what I did wrong or how to fix this. I had just
downloaded McAfee Security before I deleted the programs and rebooted. I
can't that program either. I'm frantic!

Exactly *what* did you delete?

You should not delete programs. The way to remove programs through Add /
Remove in Conrol Panel. Let's a Repir Install fixs your problems.

Sorry, I should not have used the word "delete". I used the add/remove to
uninstall programs for burning cds.
 
I have managed to uninstall McAfee Security Center. I can run IE 6 now
because I disabled the Google toolbar add ons (per the error message I was
getting) that were interfering.

I still need help because my system tray icons are gone and I appear to be
missing files needed to run the "search" function and "help and support
center".

I don't remember uninstalling any system files.

I'm afraid to do a system restore since that's such an
advanced-knowledge-needed process.

I do not think System Restore should be used given that you have just
carried ot a Repair Install. It's late now. I pick up again on your
problems tomorrow.
