Norton WinDoctor repairs Registry entries. Since I have Norton SystemWorks
2003 I went and looked for the files pip.exe and mhputil6.dll on my
computer. Actually, I went one better and looked for p*.exe and *util*.*
at the CommandPrompt using the attrib *util*.* /s command on each partition
on my hard-drive, just in case you had misspelled a file's name and there
was nothing even close to pip.exe or mhputil6.dll anywhere on my system.
Thus, you should conclude that there is something else going on with your
Norton WinDoctor than simply a missing file or DLL Have you downloaded all
the Norton updates with the LiveUpdate feature yet?
You say that you've reinstalled Windows XP 1 time and Norton 4 times. Did
you perform an in-place upgrade of Windows XP over Windows XP? And, when
you pop the Norton 2003 CD-ROM in, I believe that the default function is
that it offers to do a repair or modify install, or a complete removal of
Norton 2003.
Try a complete removal of Norton 2003, and reboot. Then, try a new
installation of Norton 2003, and reboot. Then, download all the updates
using the LiveUpdate feature of Norton 2003, and reboot. Then, run the
WinDoctor.
