I had a problem with a virus and my anti-virus system
quarantined the files and deleted them on me. When I
start my computer now I get an error message saying

Windows cannot find C:\windows\system32\dmtdll.exe. Make
sure you typed the name correctly and try again.

I tried searching the windows xp disc to try and find the
file that's missing, but I've had no luck.

Any help would be appreciated

If you have the XP CD, try going to start>run and type, "sfc /scannow"(no
quotes) note the space between the c and /. Have your XP disk ready. This
will replace all system files.

dmtdll.exe is not Windows XP file. Two Searches on the web returned spelling error.
Spelled correctly? dmt.dll, same deal.
May be scumware.
