Just Built a new computer in which I put in a DVD-ROM drive
and a Dvd-RW. I used the DVD player to install Windows XP
and everything was fine. After I had loaded a few programs
and the computer was rebooted the DVD player was missing.
Thought that maybe that DVD had gone south so I replaced
it, But still will not show up under windows. Not the First
computer I've Built so I Know how to set jumpers and
cables.Have tried evey config I can think of, but still no
DVD. What can I Do

Hi,

Can you see the DVD rom in the mobo BIOS and device
manager? If yes, read the following messages.

Run the provided registry patch

That should fix your problem (basically, a filter driver
is missing or non-operational, the registry patch will
delete the filter drivers references for your cdrom(s))

Basically, the reg file from above carries out the steps
displayed at this website in addition to removing some
drivers that may have been used by older versions of Easy
CD Creator that are known to cause problems with WinXP.

CD-ROM Access Is Missing and Messages Cite Error Code 31,
Code 32, Code 19, or Code 39 After You Remove Easy CD
