Missing DVD drives

I tried installing the Vista transformation Pack on my Dell XPS Dimension
Gen3 computer running Windows XP SP2.
I didn't like it and uninstalled it with the disastrous result that I cannot
use my computer anymore.

When I boot it it gives me the message: The following file is missing or
corrupt: \system32\ntoskrnl.exe

I have searched a lot on the Internet but most of the solutions tells me to
boot from the recovery cd.
However, the computer will not boot from any of my two DVD-roms - neither
can I get to the hard disk.

I have checked the BIOS setup and both DVD-roms are identified correct.

The dard disk is formatted in the NTFS format and connected via ata. The two
DVD drives are connet via PATA.

Keyboard is a bluetooth keyboard, but it works OK.

Any suggestions?

Jytte
