While cleaning up some old computer names on 2000 server I accidently deleted
one of the computers listed that was being used. I now get an error message
when trying to log in through the users computer that the domain is missing.
I do see on the computer properties that the persons computer on the server
has a red x through local ? Is there a way to bring back the computer that
was deleted or restore this users computer on the network. Can't log in with
it at all.

Log onto the workstation in question with a local administrator logon,
right-click My Computer and go to the Network Identification tab. Remove
the computer from the domain and add it to a workgroup. You will get a
message that the computer has disjoined the domain but its account could not
be deleted. That's fine. Restart the computer when indicated and re-join
the domain.

Richard, thats one of the problems. The admin login for local user never
works. The password is left blank but the workstation in question requires.
I've sat here on another works station and tried to login as Admin 20 times.
Then without even thinking I tried it one more time without password and got
in. Is there a way to restore the connection from the server/ and or replace
reinstall the deleted users computer to the list?

No, there is not. Once the trust relationship is broken this is the only
way to fix it.

This is why records should be kept of the local Administrator account on
*all* machines. The local Administrator account is not something you can
ignore or just forget about if you don't think you will ever use it. It is
always your "last hope" when things get screwed up.

Using a botable CD found at this link can give you a way to reset the local
Admin password to something you know (or make it blank) so that you can get
into the machine as the Admin. There are bootdisk in the form of floppies
or CD,..use the CD it is much simpler,...look for the file "cd050303.zip" in
the Download section of the following page.

I found a great tool to get past the Admin login, thanks to all.
