Missing DNE service prevents VPN startup

The Cisco Systems IPsec Driver service depends on the following nonexistent service: DN
is the error message I now get for a VPN connection that has worked fine for months
I can not find what DNE is and how to "reload" it

Reinsall the DNE Service

You can try to reinstall the DNE Service which can be done from the network connections properties tab
