My computer will not boot up after I tried to remove and
reinstall internet explorer 6.00. It will not boot up my
login screen keeps telling me that a dll. file is
missing. the files that it calls out are msgina.dll and
shlwapi.dll . I have a lot of important information that
I will lose if I do a full system restore. Is there any
patch or process I can use to get it to boot up and
retrieve my info?

Try going to your bios and making sure that your first
boot device is on cd-rom. Then insert your windows xp
pro disc into it and try to run a repair. This may and
may not help, best of luck.

How many computers have you got?

I can't believe 1 person can have so many problems!

Are you a complete novice user or managing a network ?

Paul:
I wondered the same thing. (e-mail address removed) is the
default address for CDO for win2000. It's not the same person. Yesterday I
thought some troll was screwing around. So I fired off some nasty replies.
Fortunately, only one person found their way back. So far I have only had to
apologize to one person.
;o)
Wes

I've seen a couple of posts from him where he's the third person in the
post, and his post is a reply to the second person in the post, as if he was
the first person in the post.
Does that make sense ?

Paul

Paul;
Yeah, it does. Could be a troll screwing around. But I am not going to be
a smart ass for a while anyway. ;o) Like the lady said, "Is this the party to
whom I'm speaking?"
Wes

This is one I sent yesterday, to anonymous with all these problems.
Much to my surprise I am not at all sure, now, that it was the same person.
Funny either way I suppose. :o)

I am surprised that with all the problems you are experiencing, your machine
has not burst into flames and stopped the Blaster Worm.
