After log in, I get a message that explorer cannot start
due to a missing file - uxtreme.dll. Desktop comes up
only with background. Icons and Taskbar are missing. The
only way I can access anything is through task manager.
The only thing I can think of as having occured is
changing from daylight savings time and accessing my work
computer through remote desktop. I have three user
accounts on thios macjine and all react the same way.

Thanks for any help.

Hey Mike,

Did you mean uxtheme.dll?

Start a command prompt from task manager

file
new task(Run...)
cmd

then run

sfc /scannow

Should check and replace any missing system files.

Hey Deborah

It should work in either mode.
You need to be logged in as administrator, or as a user with administrator
privileges.
You can get a bit more info by searching on sfc in Help and Support.
