Does anyone know how to restore this missing tab in the
Display Properties window. Running Window XP . It was
there early on in the installation process, but after I
installed Novell client and logged into our server the
tab disappeared. I have checked the registry but have
not yet found a specific setting that might handle this
issue.
Thanks for any help!!

Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

Look in the right pane for NoDispBackgroundPage. If it exists, it should be
set to 0. If not, double click it and change it. If it doesn't exist, right
click in a blank area of the right pane, select New, DWord value, name it as
above and leave it at 0.

Also, see www.dougknox.com, Windows XP Security Console.

Well I tried your suggestion and the Dword was set to 0, however when I click on the desktop tab under display properties it goes blank and then disappears

Hi,

In addition to Doug's expert advice, see if this helps:

Restore the Desktop Tab (Line 128)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
