Missing CPU in Task Manager

I Installed W2k Server (Small Business Edition) on a dual Xeon server. Very
early in setup I was asked what kind of computer I was installing on. I
answered "Standard PC".
Now only one CPU is visible in Task Manager (should have been four, the CPUs
are HT). I suspect this has something to do with the question above.
Is it possible to do a repair installation or must I reinstall the whole
server (hope not, I just spent the entire weekend setting it up).

I believe your best bet would be to do an "in-place" upgrade

Yes. All modern multiprocessor machines must be "APIC".
The question is , why w2k didn't detect it autiomatically. Is ACPI disabled in the BIOS?

I am afraid the easiest is reinstall (reformat or install to new directory, do NOT upgrade in place).
In theory you can change the "machine driver" from device manager but this is not for beginner.
But first, I'd check out why it was not autodetected.

Thanks for your replies guys.
I tried to change the machine driver (before I read Pavels reply) and ended
up with a blue screen. Luckily I had created a ERD and updated the repair
folder on the server. I managed to do a repair, boot in Safe Mode and change
the driver back to "Standard PC". I will check the BIOS tomorrow, reinstall
is realy the last way out: a whole wekends work and no pay................

According to KB 237556 it is possible to change the driver to MPS
Multiprocessor PC, but not to ACPI Multiprocessor PC. Does anyone know the
difference?
