Missing codec part 2

To update my message from 7/18:
The error message actually reads that the codec required to play the file is
not installed on your computer. This happens when I try to import burned cd
tracks or tracks from the E drive into wmm 6.0.

Mm pulls the codecs in to use in a different way to other programmes, so
some files which play fine say in WMP cannot be used in WMM.
In this instance you may find changing the file type of the audio file to
wma/wmv/wav will mean you can use them.
Use something like cdex to do this.
