missing cd-rom error code39
please help
------------------------------------------------------------------------
OS Windows XP Pro.
My drive letters disappeared in my computer after I uninstalled ITUNES
and can also be linked to uninstalling and reinstalling easy CD
creator, nero, quicktime, Itunes etc.
I have to also give some credit in my quest for a solution to a lad
named
Erdiko from SillyDog701 Forums for his post
Great job Erdiko .
As I said I had a similar error, just like Erdiko and the problem also
showed on the 'virtual drives' too, with the error in device manager
Code 39 you might also get Error Code 31, Code 32, or Code19. I also
knew that the drives worked fine, and the virtual drives’ being messed
up further proves it was some type of driver error.
HERE WAS THE TWIST WITH MY ISSUE .On my system the ASPI32.SYS was also
corrupted and showed this under THE NERO INFO TOOL. ASPI32.SYS health
status said it was corrupted in the ASPI TAB WINDOW. You will have to
re-install the ASPI32.SYS .To complete this fix. (If you have this
problem if not just follow the reg.edit fix.
A lot of people are not checking there ASPI32.SYS health status and
they end up failing in there total recovery to fix and see there cd-rom
& DVD drive letters as well as have drive access.
This is how I did it!
I uninstalled the drives. And then clicked Scan for hardware changes to
reinstall
or upgrade the driver. Rebooted, reinstalled the drivers, rebooted and
still had the same error message .error code (39). Just like Erdiko..
Reformatting and reinstalling windows would probably fix the problem
TRUE
It would be a lot easier to just fix this problem without going through
this long arduous task. Of reinstalling the 40 GB worth of programs I
have. yada- yada- yada.
