Missing CD & DVD drive letters

Can anyone help? Since rebooting my computer after a
lockup the CD and DVD drive letters are missing! When
checking in device manager for these drives I get Code 41
and Code 19. I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Any help would be appreciated.

You may have a corrupted registery entries for the device....

Use Bill Gates website and look at specifig error code you are getting
try fixes suggested
