I have a problem that just started happening. My web pages
designed with FrontPage (from Office XP) look fine and
display fine in IE and other browsers. When I open any
page in FrontPage the "body" content gets completely
erased.
I still have my shared borders and page setups (colors,
font settings, etc.), but the entire "body" of content
will be missing. It is as if it is somehow lost during the
loading process into FrontPage.
If I save the file, it will be saved with the "body"
content missing. If I do not save it, then the "body"
content is still there when viewed in a browser.
I thought my shared borders were the problem, but this
happens with any page (even with newly created simple
pages with no borders). I can create a page all I like,
save it (and it will be fine when viewed in a browser.
But, the "body" content will disappear when the file is re-
opened in FrontPage).
I have cleared my cache, ran antivirus programs, emptied
the TEMP folder and ran many tests. I even uninstalled
FrontPAge and reinstalled it to no avail.
I have used FrontPage for about 2 years with no problems.
Now I have this VERY SERIOUS problem and I am stumped. I
can create the pages just fine, but I still need to be
able to edit them by opening them up in FrontPage. When I
do this, the entire "body" HTML that I added is gone. All
that remains is the default HTML that is not part of the
body.
Any solutions or any idea on what is causing this? I ONLY
use FrontPage and now I do not know what to do. I can
still create pages, but if I need to edit a page, I must
open it up in notepad to get my "body" HTML code. Then if
I open the page in FrontPage, I have to paste this "body"
HTML code back into the page becuase it will be missing
everytime.
By the way, I use WinME with 384MB of SDRAM on a Celeron
700MHZ CPU. This has always been fine for me.
Please help anyone - thanks!
