I am using ppt xp with win 2k and I have lost my background image when i'm
in normal view. When I run the show i get my gradient fill (red to black)
just fine. How come I can not see it in normal view?

Thanks,
Ray

I think I would first recommend that you update your video card driver. Go
to the card's manufacturer's website and look for downloads (sometimes under
Support). If it's a laptop you're using, go to the laptop manufacturer's
website instead.

Thanks Sonia, but I have another 17 computers with the same card and no
problems. If I open the file on one of the other computers it looks fine.

Is there a setting in ppt xp that allows you to hide the background?
Thanks,
Ray

Check Format Background and make sure that you haven't checked the box next
to "Omit background graphics from master". If someone put the background on
the master as an image, this would do it. I never do that. I always use
Format > Background > Picture to place a background image on a Slide Master.

Ray,

you did not by any chance change to grayscale or black-and-white view? Make
sure you're really in "normal" view.

Kind regards,
Ute

Thanks!
I'll Check.

Thanks Ute! That was it. Simple enough. One of the students must have
selected black and white by accident.
Thanks again,
Ray
