missign or corrup system.sav file

i tried to repair my win 2000 operating system and now i
can't reboot. i get the following error:

windows 2000 could not start because the following file
is missing or corrupt: \WINNT\SYSTEM\CONFIG\SYSTEM.SAV
startup options for windows 2000, press f8

what to do?
