Mismatch on Disk Usage

In "my computer", if I right click and get the properties of the c:\
drive, I get 40gb total with 39.9gb used.

However, if I select the individual folders on the c: drive and add
them up, I get 4gb. Does anyone know how this can happen or how to
fix it.

I do have the computer set to show all hidden files. I have been very
careful in adding them up and had the misadd verified by others.
thanks,
Jim

Are you also viewing protected system files?
