Misdirected to another Web page

Over last couple of weeks when I have tried to open snapfish.co.uk, I am
directed to their downtime page, used by them early in august when they were
updating their site. This is downtime/snapfish.co.uk. This is an animated
page. Snapfish say everything should have been OK well before now, and I can
access the correct pages from other PCs, so I think that somehow my PC has
either locked onto a page (corrupted history or cache??) or I have some kind
of malware on board. I can see the references in my register, and everytime I
go to the site, the "downtime" page appears in my trusted sites. I have
cleared my cache, history etc. using internet options in control panel, and
registry cleaners such as CCleaner and webwasher, but still cannot get past
this page, no matter what address I put in, even their help index address
comes up with the same results. Snapfish is an HP on-line photo printing,
storage and sharing service. I am using XP Home SP2.

Any advice would be appreciated as I'd like to upload and order my holiday
prints.

Hi,
Try these steps:
From the downtime page, hit Ctrl+F5 to force a refresh. You may be hitting a
proxy server used by your ISP.

Start> Run> (type in) cmd [Enter]
ipconfig /flushdns
[Enter]
Clear the Temporary Internet Files and restart.

Also, I believe that Webwasher uses/creates a HOSTS file. If you find
snapfish entries in your HOSTS file, disable or remove them.
To check the HOSTS file in Windows XP...
Make sure that Windows is showing hidden files and is
not hiding file extensions for known file types then check for a HOSTS file
at [C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] Open the HOSTS file with notepad. If
there are entries you wish to disable, you can put the pound sign (#) in
front an entry to disable it. Then File> Save. Or you can rename the HOSTS
file to HOSTS.OLD to disable it.

Hope this helps,

Don,

Thanks

Renaming the Hosts file did the trick. Excellent! The other suggestions
didn't do anything to solve the problem.
