I'm having some unique computer challenges. Not sure if
they are related.
1. I get the following error message. "Compaq Power
Management service has encountered a problem and needs to
close..."
Doesn't appear all the time, and nothing appears to have
shut down, but the error message can be pretty hard to
get rid of.
2. Another error message that says that hibserve.exe?
(not sure of extension) has encountered a problem and has
to shut down.
3. clicking on any folder in Windows Explorer other than
my documents hangs up the computer for as much as 10
minutes, while it searches for folders. A similar thing
happens when I try to save a document or access the
dropdown arrow in the address bar of Internet Explorer.
4. Finally, this morning I tried to shut my computer down
using the "turn computer off" function on the start menu,
and it doesn't do anything.
Any thoughts? Symantec anti-virus is up to date as is my
spy-ware software.
