Does anybody know if Mirroring (RAID1) can be configured on Windows XP
Embedded like it could on Windows NT Embedded?

Disk mirroring can be utilized to increase reliability..."

I know it is !!!not!!! possible on Windows XP Pro (only on Windows Server
2003) see:
Quuote from http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307880
"You cannot create mirrored volumes on computers that are running Windows XP
Home Edition, Windows XP Professional or Windows XP 64-Bit Edition"

But what about XP Embedded?
Any third party products?

Thanks

Heinrich,

Don't you have MB with hardware RAID support?
XPP and XPe share same binaries for kernel, drivers and programs. So answer
is no it can't be done by default.

About third party product I never looked for them, but you can search for
XPP software RAID solutions. You will add them easily to XPe.

Just to mention some 3rd party suport for RAID.
I have been using FastTrack Pro without problems. I just had to componentize
thier driver (and the MB had the support for RAID configurablefrom BIOS)
that was loading early at kernel loading phase.

Plus, you have a sofware emulation for mirroring (Dynamic Volumes). You want
to read more about it in XP Pro documentation or on MSND.

Thanks for your help.
However, I need a SW-only solution because my HW is already fixed and cannot
be changed.
I cannot add aditional boards and I do not have RAID Support in the BIOS

I would be happy if this is case. Unfortunately, Windows XP Pro does not
support Mirroring, only the Server 2003 does! See
