Hi,

One of our smaller customers wants to replace his SCSI 15krpm disk with an
IDE disk (tried to convince him of the better performance and stability of
SCSI, but despite of that he wants to change).

So a simple thought:
- Add the IDE disk
- Make disks dynamic
- Start a mirror from SCSI to IDE disk
- Remove the SCSI disk
- Start server and break mirror set

But if I remove the SCSI drive the server boots and comes with a stop error
that tells me there is an inaccessable boot device. The settings in the
boot.ini are correct and pointing to the right drive and partition.

How can I repair the boot on IDE???

You must be using Windows 2000. When you mirror the boot volume in Windows 2003, the system automatically updates boot.ini with boot entry for the mirrored boot volume. Windows 2000 does not, so you will need to add it manually, boot from mirrored volume and then break the mirror.
