Hi! Every time I try to send an e-mail I get this message .: The host POP3
wasn't found. Make sure, that you have the correct servername. Subjekt:
Account: 'g-mail, server: POP3, Protokol:SMTP, Port: 25, Secure (SSL): No,
Socket-failure: 11001, Error: 0x800CCC0
Does it make any sense?

Had this problem on a computer the other day, the SMTP and POP3
server/address should be the same (and correct)

Hi Aaron,

I have exactly the same error message despite a correct POP3 and SMTP address.

I am in the same position than Anne : what can I do ?

Try ticking the 'log on using secure password authentication' & 'my server
requires authenticiation' boxes in the same section as POP3 etc.

I pressume you are using yahoomail or some equivelent. Try going to the
help pages on relevant hosts website to check to ensure that all information
you are entering is correct.

hey i have the same problems, i have some info, but i need some too, if you
get this respond, if you are using time warner, call and ask about it, they
know

Only a few mail providers use the same server name for POP
and SMTP. It is best not to guess at these settings, but either
follow the the directions on the mail provider's website, or else
wait for an expert to respond with the solution.

Please right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it
into a reply here.

Can someone help me? I am getting the following error message when trying to
attach photos in an email using Microsoft windows
The host 'SMTP' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.
Subject 'Emailing: Auntie and Grammy with Alexis at Mystic', Account:
'POP3', Server: 'SMTP', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

You don't have the correct server name for SMTP...
Who provides your email? What do you have entered for the POP server?
