Minus sign on the wrong side

When I copy and paste data from a financial program, the minus sign is
sometimes on the right sight of the amount,
and Excel considers the data as text. I now sort and replace the minus
sign, however, I think there must be a fomula
to move the minus sign to the left, and format the call as a value.

try the following:
- select your column with data
- goto 'Data - Text to columns'
- step through the wizard

To change the minus from the right side to the left side:
You can use a Worksheet Function:
=IF(RIGHT(D12,1)="-",-1*LEFT(D12,LEN(D12)-1)+0,D12)

but it would be better to fix them and be finished with that using a macro:

using CDbl -- the macro will fix right minus as well as CR on the right.
