Minor Radeon annoyance

Hi everybody,

I recently replaced my Geforce 4 Ti with an ASUS Radeon 9600XT. Ever since I
did so, I've been experiencing a slightly annoying problem. Every time
there's a change in resolution (e.g. loading a game or BIOS startup
screens), my monitor insists on readjusting its screen position and
brightness every time ('Auto Config'), even though I haven't touched any of
the settings. The screen will be moved to the right, then back to the centre
again, and the screen will go extremely bright, then back to normal. It's
not a driver problem, because it happens before Windows loads up too.

My monitor is an Iiyama 4611 TFT connected to the card through a VGA cable,
and I never had this problem with the Geforce. What's going on here? Is
there anything I can do about it?

Thanks,

Andy.

Use the DVI connector?

Check (or clear) the box in the advanced driver options for the different
DVI operational mode?

Not having used a TFT on mine I'm not sure, but thats where I'd start.

You can set the DVI output to be the primary display (effectively swap the
two displays) in the Displays option.

Thanks for the reply Ben, but my TFT doesn't have a DVI connector. I tried
disabling 'Alternate DVI operational mode' anyway, but that had no effect.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Never mind, I think the problem's gone now. I forgot about the DVI adaptor
that came with the card, so I tried that and set DVI operational mode on
again, and it seems to be OK now, in Windows anyway. I guess that's what Ben
meant by the 'DVI connector'. Thanks again!

Glad it's sorted.
