I posted a few days ago but did not get a response. Was
hoping papa john or cari might have a suggestion.I have
some static and a few hickups in the audio portion of
movie when I have saved to avi file. Does not matter if
song was up loaded or ripped. Does not happen in every
song and seems to happen with transtions. I have a pent
4 and the sound card is intergrated in the mother board.
Do I need a better sound card? I de frag before each save
and most everthing is turned off in the background. Any
ideas?

My collection of audio issues like that are on the Problem Solving > Audio
Issues page of www.papajohn.org

It's a work in progress with a number of issues, some successes, and more to
unfold as more posts and info come in. It's up to date with what I know
today.

Hi Burnie

The problem with audio pops, clicks and other glitches comes up about once
per week here. It seems to affect some people but not others. I'm one of
the people it affects.

My "theory" is that it's to do with MM2 putting the DV audio and video
*very* slightly out of sync on cuts and transitions. You won't hear it
during preview, it will only become apparent once you've rendered your
project to DV. I did read somewhere that audio and video is not synced
within the DV format, and a slight loss of sync will result in clicks.
Shame, as it can turn an otherwise terrific production into an unwatchable
mess.

Sorry I can't help, but at the moment I suspect there's no fix.

H ave been to your web site and I was getting the just of
saving the audio and then saving the video and then
putting them together in a 3rd party software when
burning them to dvd. Did I understand that right.

Yes, it's a testing/trial and error type of thing.... fish around and find
out what works for you and your system.
