It seems that this is a common problem, though I am digging through
google's archive of this group and not finding many answers. I am having
the same problem as described in:

http://groups.google.com/[email protected]&rnum=9

(sorry for the wrapping)

Is there a way to fix this? I am using the latest version (8.0.10).

Hello,

There have been several messages here saying that focussing,
previewing, and the color is way off for the Minolta SD IV and
Vuescan. I had several exchanges with Ed Hamrick and I am under the
impression that he is still working on it.
I sincerely hope so, because if not, we indeed have a problem !
I use the SD IV for B&W - very nice indeed. But I can't do any color
negatives or transp's....

I got it working but on a clean reboot of the computer, you must run
vuescan only, and never run the Minolta software. If you have, you
need to reboot.

Hello Tyler,

Could you please elaborate?

If you say: clean reboot, do you mean: no Minolta software installed?
I have the Minolta software installed, I use the newest version of
Vuescan, I do a clead reboot, and I only run Vuescan, but it makes no
difference in my case. The 'color banding' problem (most obvious in
the multi sample mode) is still there. The SD4 still does not auto
focus correctly.

Are you saying that all this works OK at your side? In that case I
must conclude that I have a defective SD4. On the other hand: the
Minolta software works as expected....

I sincerely hope that this SD4/Vuescan problem gets solved soon: I am
slowly growing desperate :(
