I used a 5400-II on a Macbook for a while, when my Windows pc was
broken... it worked, but the software did hang up occasionally
and wasn't too fast.
Just for the benefit of anyone else reading this thread, I asked the
same question of David Brooks from Shutterbug magazine - this is what
said in his reply :
' The Minolta software for the Dimage Scan Elite 5400 will install
and launch on an Intel Mac, but the interface with the scanner in my
experience does not.
My solution has been to Use Lasersoft SilverFast Ai6, and the current
version runs native on an Intel Mac, to run my Minolta 5400 II. Its a
better scanning software solution than the Minolta was anyway, and I
have used it with both the 5400 and 5400 II to obtain the best scans
of 35mm film I have obtained from any consumer 35mm scanner. '
