Hi,
In a few weeks, my planned scanner upgrade time will happen
(birthday gift from my wife) and I think I've settled on the
Minolta 5400 as the best in its price class
(I mostly do slides, rarely print film). I just received my
profiling slides (and print) from Germany to do that part "right".
There are a few places with prices too low off the average to
think they're anything but refurb or 'b'-goods at best. And there
are a few selling above what I think is the list price (why?).
Default
reliable sources like B&H are around $650, while the lower prices
group down from there to just a little under $600.
My current thought is Amazon who sells it for about $600 with
their free shipping. Has anybody bought one from them? If
you did, did you suspect it was b-goods or any other oddity in the
purchase? Did you try using their 30-day return policy that seems to
apply to the unit?
Alternatively, any other suggestions before I go ahead with it (in
a couple
weeks from now)?
Thanks in advance,
Mike
P.S. - I'm in the U.S.
