Dear madam, Sir,

I have bought W 2000 Pro.
What size do I need to install it ?
2 Gb is that enough
NTFS or FAT32 ?

Best regards,

Ko de Groot/The Netherlands

It will install in 2Gb, no problem, but you may find that tight once you
start installing applications.

NTFS is the best choice unless you plan on dual-booting with another OS.

Regards

Oli

While 2GB is enough to install W2k you can expect a 2GB partition to
fill fairly quickly with app-related materials, and become a problem
requiring resizing to something like 4-5GB for smooth performance. If
the partition becomes heavily fragmented you will have difficulty
defragging if there is little unused space, and performance will suffer
greatly. Depending on how many apps and what performance you want, it
would be much safer for much longer to start with an uncrowded
partition. You'll be happy you did, a year from now.

NTFS is a better choice for reliability.
