What would be the suggested higher minimum RAM requirement
to run a Windows XP OS(Gateway Profile4) computer besides
the default 64Mb?
The base programs running on the computer is MS Word,
Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook 2002. Also,
the IE browser app and financial software called Great
Plains.
I imagine the one true test of a computer's memory is to
open multiple apps at once; try to multitask and see if
your system crawls given the RAM chipset installed. But in
a nutshell, what would you all suggest is a higher minumum
RAM requirement besides 64Mb.

I thought XP's minimum was 128MB..

My "personal" minimum for XP is 256MB.
My "personal" preference for XP is 512MB or more.

MS suggests a minimum of 128. Most users will agree that 256 is more
realistic for good performance though.

This information is based on what I've read in MS's information on upgrades
and that posted to various NG's.
