I am using my computer as a video work horse, converting, editing, rendering, burning, etc. I have heard that it is best to use a different hard drive to hold the operating system, than the drive used for storing the media. I have an old 2.1 Gb hard drive in another computer. Is this too small to run Win XP from? My other drive is 120 Gb.

Ivan;
Absolute minimum should be 4gb.
That allows for updates, Service Packs etc but no applications or
other data.

I wouldn't use that 2.1 gig hard drive even if it was big enough.
It is likely much slower than your 120 gig hard drive and you'd see a
definite difference in speed between the two hard drives.

You could partition the 120 gb drive to achieve a similar result.

Buy Partition Magic:
http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/

or Bootit NG, www.bootitng.com -- 30-days fully functional shareware.
