Okay, what's the deal with having a minimized window in
IE6, that when I click on it, there's little 'whoosh'
animation and it goes to the System Tray on the right
bottom side of my screen. I keep clicking it, but it
never maximizes. It just does it's little animation
thing. Does anyone know what this is, and why it does
what it does?

Anyone else experience the same problem? Can a tech tell
me what the deal is with the minimized window animation?

IE itself won't minimize to the System Tray. Some third party program must
be doing this. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and see what other programs are
running.

I checked again. I do not understand what you mean by
third party. I don't have anything running that requires
me to be online (other than my DSL connection and a
browser). The window that pops under, as it were,
minimizes and there is no way to maximize it, nor move it.
It stays on the TASK bar, but there is a strange animation
when I click on the window while on the task bar, that
seems to 'move' the minimized window over to the System
Tray. Of course, it really doesn't. I can right click and
close the window, that's not a problem at all. The problem
is, why is there in the first place? What purpose does it
serve to have a window that can only function minimized on
the task bar and does not allow one to maximize it?

What happens if you right click it and choose Restore?

That will put it on the taskbar, not in the System Tray.

You're right. He was specific enough about that that I shouldn't
have ignored that part of the problem description. It must be force of
habit from considering how often we have had interpret the real situation
when people have been complaining about "Minimized" windows when
all they really mean is very tiny normal windows or ones which are totally
off the screen.
