Minimize Database window

I have A Main Switchboard that works well (database window minimizes when database opens). I also have a Reports Switchboard that works well except that when I click on the "Return To Main Switchboard" Command Button, the database window pops up from minimize and then minimizes again. Can't figure it out. Also, how can I convert regular time (1:30) into military format (13:30) so I can calculate individual/total hours for reports

set the format of the field in the table and/or form/report to Shorttime.

As far as the db window. Haven't a clue.
