I am trying to locate very small inkjet labels for a project of mine.
I am trying the Avery 8658, 189 per page at 27 x 7. Even they are too
big and I end up cutting them laboriously.
Ideally I need a selection of about 12mm by 3mm, 12mm by 6mm, 16mm by
3mm. Naturally I would prefer A4 sheets but anything will do if they
are hard to come by. If they are clear labels, see-through, even
better, but that is making the search even harder.

I don't mean to be unkind, but how many times are you going to post this -
and in how many places? I answered you a week ago, both here and in the MS
Publisher group. You've never returned and read any of the replies (at
least, if you have, you've not responded) so I don't know what would be
gained by replying to you again.

I don't know whats going wrong with Google Groups on my PC but out of
all the posts I made so far re Minilabels your iraye reply above is
the ONLY one I've seen. I have noticed it sometimes takes more than
one attempt to get a post to appear on Google. Be warned I've reposted
this Minilabel question in several groups again and will have to do so
until I can see the posting. Regret if offence is caused but who in
their right mind would see a reply to their post then repost the same
question? Not me..............

This is a mystery. I can only see my minilabel posts by searching the
individual groups to which I posted. Cannot see them if I do a general
search of googlegroups using my ID. This is the way I have always
searched until now.

May I suggest you learn how to set up a newsreader? Posting via Google
Groups is the clunkiest way to go about things. ClaraNET does offer news
group access and there are details how to set it up on their website
(http://www.uk.clara.net/homeaccess/claranews_faq.php#B). Please read this
FAQ and learn how to set up your newsreader (you have easy access to Outlook
Express).

May I also strongly recommend that you do *NOT* post to groups with your
real address. This is a sure-fire way to end up on every spammers list. You
need to bastardise your address so that it isn't immediately obvious what it
is. You need to 'munge' the domain (the part /after/ the '@' sign) as
munging your username does nothing - as the domain is still valid and spam
will still end up at your ISP, even if it doesn't filter its way through to
your inbox.

Just a few pointers so you don't end up posting multiple times and you don't
receive nastier replies.

Thank you for your advice.
My posts re MiniLabels are now listed above all my earlier four years
of posts when I search Google with my name as Author. This has taken
about 48 hrs after I sent the minilabel posts. For years I have
checked my posts searching on my name as Author with few problems, it
is much quicker than checking each different group I post to. I had no
idea this method had become unreliable. I have not altered any of my
newsreader settings for ages.
So far as spam goes I use Clara's filters and get very little spam
these days. I crossposted re Minilabels because I am keen to get them
and did not hold out much hope. This pessimism was justified - just
for once I WANT spam re small labels and have received none! I will
probably have to get them custom made, and will post the
manufacturer's name in due course.
BTW my 4 June posts for minilabels I can see in each group, but still
cannot see if I search all groups with my name as author?

BJ,
Did you search the newsgroups for the words "Mini(space)labels or did you search the single word of "minilabels"? This would make a difference in searching for your posts. As is the Subject Line in this thread and newsgroup.

Hence I could only fnd them by searching each group incl this one
individually. I can only assume Google or Clara.net has fouled up
somewhere on 4 June?

I just got "Internal Server Error" trying to post. I bet this has
something to do with this glitch I'm on about - I seem to recall this
message on 4 June

A Google Groups search for "mini labels" turned up over 15,000 hits.

I suggest that you would do yourself a GREAT BIG FAVOR if you would
educate yourself on how to conduct internet searches, including searches
of newsgroups.
