When I read the posts, I'm a bit confused. I have the effects set to none and still have this horrible funky echo. I'm suspicious of Itunes...it didn't start until my son downloaded that. Do I need to go my PC manufacturer to figure this out i.e. drivers and such instead of Windows XP site? I didn't get anything with my new computer - no little manual this time or discs - feel hand tied.

hi son
both my friend and i are having the same problem . i'm sure there is somewhere in xp that lets you change sound effects from say a living room to a cave or a church , but i can't find it now . i will try and find out and tell you but if you work it out would you let me know as its driving me mad .
thanks

son
i was looking for something else after sending last message and i think i have stumbled across the solution . look at the bottom right of your taskbar for a blue square with yellow lines in it . if it isnt there go start , control panel , other control panel options (on the far left panel) , sound effect manager . then on the sound effect tab make sure the environment isnt set to something other than living room
that should fix it for yo
