I have NT 4.0 environment now - want to go to 2000 server
with AD.

My problem is my domain name here is MY_COMPANY - im
afraid if I "migrate" to Windows 2000 servers with AD
there will be a problem with this.

I have only 30 users - 1 exchange 5.5 server on a Win2K
server, 1 file server on Win2K and two DC's running WinNT
4.0.

Do you think I will have any problems migrating with this
setup? Particulary when I try to setup DNS and AD with a
domain name that has an UNDERSCORE in it? Or will I have
to rebuild the network from scratch?

Thanks for any help you can provide! :)

Almost as bad as my company, our server is called THE_SERVER, I am in the
process of migrating, bit I renamed the server and domain and just migrated
the NT accounts to the 2K server, you could try that. I don't believe the
UNDERSCORE is a valid character in the DNS naming convention.

Im mostly worried about the Exchange 5.5 server which
heavily depends on the domain name being the same - if
changed screws up everything ( i hear)...any other ideas
out there? Anyone??

ADMT v2 has exchange directory migration. I don't know if this would be
relevant in your case but it might be worth looking into.
