I am currently migrating some users from a windows nt4 domain that have
local profiles onto a new AD domain (that again will use local profiles) and
am looking for the best way to get all of the profile and settings over.
Currently I am logging onto the new domain which creates a new profile
(user.newdomain) and then copying pretty much everything from the profile
(user) over the top of it. The problems that I am encountering is that
firstly Outlook express won't work anymore, which I have managed to get
round by copying the old mailboxes, .iaf files etc into the new profile, but
what I can't seem to figure out how to do is to get the settings such as
wallpaper, preferences over as well... i.e. the first time they run word it
is as if it has never been run before... hope this makes sense. Any
suggestions ? I just need a way so that other than logging onto a new
domain from a users point of view everything is as it was before.
Thanks
