Hello all,

Presently I own a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop with 60GB hard disk, and
running Windows XP Media Center editon. I am plan to buy another
larger notebook HD for this laptop. What is the best software to
migration from on smaller hard drive to larger one. I already try
True Image Home 10.0, and loss capacity of larger hard disk.

TIA

That's what I would tell you to use. I've moved my 80 gig laptop to a
100 gig and had no problem. I move 80 to 100 and moved it again as 80
to 80+20 (2 partitions) and had no issues doing either one. I would
say its not as user friendly as it could be but it still works. I
even put the 80 back and did the 100 to 80 route. And I was using
Version 9.

I'd try it again. However most of the drive makers have for download
or with the drive a tool to migrate. Seagate, I think theirs is a
clone of True Image however.

I was using restore setting that why I lost disk capacity. Are you
using the disk clone function to migrate disk. I think I will try
clone next, but for some reason I was unable to get the system to
recorgnize default factory setting of 120 GB of the newer HD.

I already call Toshiba and they do not have the tool for migrate HD.

I was cloning the drive. Restore might have different features. I've
done image backups but have never used them more than to restore a few
files now and then (thank goodness!).
