Hello

I am a home user of Outlook Express 6. I have 56k dial-
up connection with an ISP. I would like to migrate to
Outlook with all my folders. Is it possible? If so can
anyone advise me as to how I can proceed?

TIA

Mick

Both apps need to be on same PC.
In OE export settings/mail to OL
Once OL is running ok, try sending a test msg to yourself, to check. You
then need to set OL as yr default mail client in Internet Options.
Be aware that if you start OE, it will receive any mail, if email accounts
are still configured in OE
You may find this usefull, to create a shortcut to the OE newsreader (OL has
no newsreader)
The Target :
"%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /outnews

Thanks DL

1. Could you please tell me where can I set Outlook as my
default mail client in Internet Options?

2. Do I have to disable Outlook Express so that my emails
would not land in it even when I open it? If so, how?
Or is it sufficient to only set my Outlook as my default
mail client?

Thanks.

Mick

1) Internet Options/Programs Tab
You can access internet options via control panel or IE Tools
2) I dont use OE, if there is not a setting to 'Not to check for mail' or
similar you would have to delete the accounts.
But why would you wish to open OE if yr using OL?
If its to access the OE Newsreader, you can do this from IE or create the
shortcut
