Hello all!!

I need some questions answered concerning a migration from an NT4 domain to
AD.

Would it be better to migrate or, build a new AD structure from scratch and
use a two way trust to get people moved?

Can an NT4 domain and AD exist on the same network without causing problems?

Can anyone recommend a text on planning a migration?

Thanks in advance.

You should be able to upgrade just fine, you would take your PDC and upgrade
this but I'm guessing that the hardware may be old so it may not have the
hardware requirements. If that is the case you could install NT4 on a new
server platform and then make it the PDC and upgrade it.

I would create a new forest and migrate it via trust and ADMT.
I have a document to help setup a trust between NT4 and AD at:
http://www.pbbergs.com
select articles and click on NT4 -v- Active Directory Trust

ADMT

They can exist on the same platform w/o issue

EXCELLENT!

Thanks Paul!
