Is there an easy way to migrate users from one windows 2000 server to
another.
I am upgrading my server to a newer box and want to move the users from the
Old server to the new one.
Thanks

David,
Do you currently have only one Domain Controller? Or, do
you have multiple DCs? I am going to assume that you have
only one!
Should that be the case, simply install the new WIN2000
Server, DCPROMO it to be a Domain Controller. It will
replicate with a "Replication Partner", which, in this
case, will be your sole DC. Now, you have redundancy and
the user accounts will be on both DCs ( due to the
replication ).
If you want to remove the original, older box from the
environment then you simply need to run DCPROMO and that
will make the DC into a Member Server. At that point you
can simply disjoin the computer from the domain and say
bye! bye!
However, there are several things to take into account.
The original, older DC ( remember, I am basing this on the
supposition that the orginal DC is the only DC in your
environment ) holds the five FSMO Roles. These need to be
transfered over to the newer box. The original is also a
Global Catalog Server. That needs to be moved over to the
newer box. Same for DNS and possibly WINS and DHCP.
