I am upgrading to a laptop from a desktop. The Desktop
used Outlook 2000, the laptop will have Outlook xp. Are
there any documented processes/instructions to
sucessfully move the Outlook user folders and settings
from the Desktop to the Laptop along with the Outlook
settings?

Thanks,

Is there a shortcut in the start menu for Office 2K that
allows you to save the configuration settings\profile?
There is something like this with Office XP. Other than
that you can manually copy over your PST file, and import
it into Outlook, this will at least carry over your emails
and contacts etc.

The rest of it would a be a customise as you go along job
though, i.e. you've lose any custom signature you may have
created and you've need to know the configuration settings
for your existing setup to carry them over to the new
machine. If you do it manually just set the two up next to
each other, it shouldn't take long. I used to be a change
engineer and these sort of things can be done in a matter
of minutes if the write infrastructure and preperation is
in place before you start the job. Don't forget the
contents of "My Documents" and your Internet "Favourites"
folder.
