Migrating to E2K

[AJD]

I have migrated about 98% of my users to AD from NT4.
They are still pointing towards my old Exchange 5.5
servers. I would like to install a new E2K server in my
production AD w/o having to move mailboxes yet. By me
installing this, will it cause any issues? Will the
production AD users be effected or will they still be able
to send/receive mail from the 5.5 mailboxes? Do I need to
install ADC first? What role would ADC play in this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Before installing Exchange 2000 you need to install ADC to synchronize
Exchange 5.5 directory with active directory. See

So you did not upgrade your domain to W2k but used ADMT to migrate objects.
In this case, if you need a clean aproach, install new Exchange 2000 into
your AD domain and use ExMerge tool to migrate mailboxes. See
