Hello,

i have 25 XP machines running on a new Win2k3 AD based network. I
forgot to move the profile settings over from the old NT4 system
(which I still have access to)

Is it possible to move the user's profile over into Win2k3? The user
names have changed to logon so each machine still has C:\Documents and
Settings\olduser.logon folder.. can I just copy this directory
somewhere on the Win2k3 box, or can I just copy it to the C:\Documents
and Setting\newuser.logon folder?

Cheers,

Probably easier to set a roaming profile to use the old one. Then change it
to a local profile. Once that is done and they log out, change the UNC to
the new server and set it to use roaming again.

Here's more info on that and some documentation on suggestions on how to do
that:
Switching between a Roaming and Local User Profile:

Also, check this link out, there's a script to help in permissions on the
profiles, among other things:

Unfortunate you didn't use ADMT to set the profiles to the new domain.
