All,

I want to migrate my print server to W2K3 AD domain from NT domain. The
print server is currently on W2K server in NT domain. If I use the computer
migration with ADMT v2 and retain the same server name, my users should
still be able to access the printer shares as they are currently mapped on
there systems, correct? I do not wish to publish the printer yet in Active
Directory...

Thanks in advance.

if your users are still on NT4 the answer is yes.
If your users are on AD the answer is also yes if you have migrated
the users and groups from the NT domain to the AD domain with
sidhistory afterwards you need to re-acl the data to have the AD sids
instead of the NT sids and you need to clean sidhistory

Jorge,

Thanks for reply. I do have all users and groups already migrated w/ sid
history. I have also migrated all computers systems (both desktops servers)
with only print server remaining. I also have a Exchange 5.5 server data
migration left (i.e. Public folder data to XCHNG 2K3...mailboxes already
migrated) and some file server data migration to complete before
decomissioning the NT domain for good.

I thought that this would/should work for print server, but I just wanted to
run it by for 2nd opinion. I'll be ghosting box prior to migration just in
case I need to roll back. I'll post results of migration of print server
tomorrow.
